A Tale of two friends
I wanted to go explore the galaxy,
I knew Earth is not our last home.
We are meant to explore the Universe,
For it is only us,
Who were able to imagine the Unimaginary.
But she,
She questioned me.
Questioned humanity.
And she said,
If we are going to another planet,
and repeat our mistakes,
I would rather die here and pray,
pray that,
history of human ends here.
I left her,
Hoping she will realize her ignorance.
Hoping she will realize we are meant to survive till the end.
Hoped to bring her with me.
I made my way there,
I built my home,
But I remembered how much you hated me,
for leaving you.
And I promised,
I will take care of my new planet,
like we could not for yours.
But it is lonely here now,
I feel the coldness of your absence.
Elton John was right,
“Mars ain’t the place to raise a kid.
In fact it’s cold as hell”
And I realized,
I did not look inwards to find our lives’ answers.
I looked outwards to face our humankind’s reality…
To find out, we are alone in this Universe.
